Langley Park, MD (June 8, 2012) - On Saturday June 23rd, CASA will host its Annual Services Fair which will feature a wide range of medical, legal and citizenship services during a day intended to be a one-stop experience for community members.
Thanks in large part to a number of CASA’s partners including Adventist Healthcare, Community Clinic Inc., Prince George’s County Government, Priority Partners and several locally based attorneys, the fair will provide community members with an opportunity to benefit from many vital services free of charge during a single visit. Medical screenings scheduled to be offered include blood pressure, Body Mass Index, blood glucose, Derma Scan, and dental screenings among many others. HIV testing, counseling and referral services will also be available onsite.
The Services Fair will also feature a citizenship clinic that will provide attendees assistance with navigating through the complicated naturalization process. Attorneys will be available to review citizenship applications and provide guidance on addressing any related concerns. In addition to citizenship services, local attorneys will also be available to provide consults and advise to community members on a wide array of legal matters.
Workshops on a variety of topics including nutrition, health and safety will be ongoing throughout the day. Attendees will also learn how to take action in their communities and build power to create positive change through becoming members of CASA de Maryland.
Attendees will enjoy a variety of free giveaways, games and entertainment for the kids as well as music provided by Romantica 900. Those visiting all sections of the fair will receive a bag of free groceries courtesy of the Capital Area Food Bank and Priority Partners.
