The New Americans Initiative - Report. Overshadowed in recent policy debates about the role of immigrants in the United States is the large number of legally documented immigrants who have received legal permanent resident status and are now, or will soon be, eligible for citizenship. CASA de Maryland and Tenants and Workers United of Northern Virginia present this new study describing the demographics and needs of 270,000 citizenship-eligible immigrants living in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
